FX Senshi Kurumi-chan Memes · "Isn't Making Money Honestly Boring?"

A Japanese manga written by Demunyan and drawn by Tansan Daisuki, serialized in Monthly Comic Flapper, adapted by Passione into a TV anime that premiered on 1 October 2026. It follows college student Kurumi Fukuga, who starts trading FX to win back the 20 million yen her mother lost — and gets repeatedly schooled by the market. English-speaking fans usually shorten the title to Kurumi-chan.

It is a Chinese pun: 韭菜 (“leeks”, slang for retail investors who keep getting cut down) plus 久留美 (Kurumi). Because Kurumi spends nearly every chapter on the edge of a margin call, Chinese fans simply call her Jiuliumei. It is an affectionate nickname and a self-deprecating joke at the same time.

No. The pink-haired close-up that circulates as a screenshot is not from the show. It is an easter egg from an AI fan video made by @ADKinsoMaD in February 2026 while testing Seedance 2.0; he publicly claimed it on X on 25 October 2026. The manga does have a whispered version of the same line, and the anime redrew that scene with a different composition.

It is dark humour about blow-ups in FX. In the manga, Kurumi’s mother dies after losing 20 million yen, and Chinese netizens euphemistically call that kind of ending “going flying”. It is fiction, and a grim one. In real life, margin calls and debt genuinely destroy families, so please do not treat real tragedies as a joke or try high-leverage trading.
